Let's have a thread about consoles which are easy to pirate to! I'll start with the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP. With PSP, you only need the console and a memory card. With the NDS, you need a flashcart. The latest firmware on these devices can be easily hacked with automated tools. You can find ROMs and ISOs for them on emuparadise and other romsites. Are there any other consoles that are easy to pirate to? I have a PS2 and I can run ISOs from an USB stick, but it's pretty slow. I've read that if you put a harddrive in the PS2, it's as fast or even faster than if you use a legit disc. A friend of mine said that the Wii was extremely easy to hack too. No talk about emulation on the PC, this is a console board.
I pirated my sister's 3DS and it was easier than I expected. Not as easy as the DS, but this is free.
>>102 i have a ps1. are these easy to pirate
>>102 3ds just got blown wide the fuck open with cfw. think 10.3 is the last fw version that's exploitable so far(10.6 is latest so be sure not to update) downgrade 10.3 to a fw that's easy to install cfw on by following this guide. http://pastebin.com/ZfA8wtA2 - link to CFW install is at bottom of paste. n3ds users, let me know if any of you manage to get reiNAND working, I've tried several times and think it's busted. rxt and minipasta work fine.
Vita can now
>get hit by blue shell >Lightning strikes at the very same instant
Mario kart DS would be better without items
>>113 but then it'd be boring.
>>122 but the items just suck in the fun
>>113 >snake kart DS would be better if I could just snake all day
>>123 I think it keeps it from being just a lame, repetetive racing game. Also it levels the playing field for karts with lower weight or speed by giving a way to compete with more dangerous or faster karts. Without items people would only use 2 karts, one for speed, and one for knocking people out of the way. Balanced karts would be underwhelming.
Daily reminder that Quentin does not want you playing your DS in public /c/ admin please don't move this thread to off topic, this isn't shit posting
>>63 >What if the shitposts are the real posts and everything else is the shitposts? this line is a twitter meme. Rolling spurdo is a clearnet, non chan maymay: https://ifunny.co/tags/spurdo/1441595616
>>64 >this line is a twitter meme. No it's a standard "retarded stoner" cliche line, "what if X is the Y and Y is the X"? The humor comes from how stupid this kind of "thinking outside the box" thinking is and it doesn't originate from twitter. >Rolling spurdo is a clearnet, non chan maymay That's a content aggregator you dummy, it takes things posted on imageboards and archives them.
>Quentin moved to off-topic Shit man, MChan mods are more based than I expected them to be
I'll sometimes play it if I'm on a bus for a few hours. I won't whip it out immediately, but I'm not gonna just be bored to save face among people I'll never see again.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Thread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rPxiXXxftE I dont know how to feel about this. Everything shown so far makes the gameworld look lonely and like it's trying to hop onto the trend of open world crafting and ""survival"". On the other hand it resembles classic 2D Zelda's freedom and exploration compared to the themepark and handholding of the most recent Zelda games. Combat also looks good and if Miyamoto isnt a liar one can beat the game naked if they have the skill.
>>133 full game has villages and NPCs they were disabled for the demo
If this game is shit or not depends on the actual game being as emergent as the E3 Demo. All E3 Demos are scripted lies, see: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8blIojirqFU When Link pushes down rocks to kill monsters or cuts down a tree to cross a gap it reminds me of the first dungeon of Oblivion which was filled with scripted sequences like rolling logs and pushing rocks to kill goblins that never showed up again because the physics engine was terrible.
>>135 That starter dungeon made me ragequit/borequit Oblivion.
I think as long as they keep the survival aspects somewhat minimal and maybe lean it towards environmental conditions it could end up being a cool way to block off areas from less advanced players. Kind of like in oot how you needed the red tunic to really explore the volcano. Maybe there will be cool shit on a snowy mountain, but without warm enough clothes the environmental danger will be prohibitive.
I prefer console games over PC games. (TL;DR...consoles feel more like an actual vidya to me, read on for a more thorough explanation.) Granted, I play both of them, but in the beginning my first forays into the wonderful world of vidya began on the PS1 and the Turbo Graphics 16. I dabbled with PC titles once in a blue moon, but didn't truly get into PC gaming (translation: download Steam) until Q1 2008. I loved mods, server-side addons, more mature player base, and later came to appreciate how PC can have better graphics (although I never got to enjoy this, as my computers have NEVER been gaming computers and thus never had the processing power to run Killing Floor on anything higher than standard settings). I loved hosting my own servers. I loved when my friends hosted servers. There's a bunch of shit I love aboot PC gaming... ...but I still prefer console gaming. Why? Well, other than my PC sucking ass and my inability to buy a decent machine with decent hardware (weed), console games FEEL like a video game to me. That fun feeling you had on Christmas when you unwrap a new vidya and pop it in your console? Every time I buy something for muh PS Quadruple, I get that feeling. When I play PC games I feel like an autist wasting away in his mom's basement (ie; like 95% of anyone on this site ever). Secondly, the less mature playerbase on consoles is a double-edged sword. Yeah, we all hate that spoiled 13 y/o fuck on Cawadoodee, but if you know what you're doing that can turn into comedy gold. Just get an Elgato and you have yourself some griefing videos for YouTube (my friends and I do this ourselves; will post an example if y'all are interested). Lastly, and this is personal to me, I personally don't care too much if PC has the best graphics on the market. Sure, MGS V:TPP has sharper shadows and more defined 3D models on PC, but the PS4 version is only slightly less nice. Consoles are coming closer and closer to PC q
(text too long)
>>59 >I personally don't care too much if PC has the best graphics on the market Neither does /pc/ people. We like PC games for the same reason you say you like console games: the games. To us, PC games feel fun, while console games just feel I don't know, artificial, lacking. That's why we tend to not even play a lot of multi platform games. The cultural difference between pc games and console games is obvious. But anon, if you need that buying disk+inserting into something so it feels "real", maybe you have been bitten by the consumer bug
>>60 Not necessarily "real" so much as it just feels good to me
>Neither does /pc/ people. Why wouldn't you? Seems stupid not to take graphics into consideration. Clearly they shouldn't be the only thing you care about, but in the case of multiplatforms why would anyone not choose the superior version (same gameplay+better graphics)? VIDEO games are a visual medium after all.
>>59 so you prefer them because they just inherently feel better to you because they're console games? that's like the argument of "I just have faith that there is a god." that's pretty stupid "reasoning".
I get you, dude. I was raised on consoles and consoles have always felt better to me. I think it has to do with me just getting a little distracted on pc being able to just alt tab or enter console commands. It's really cool and useful, but just the option somehow puts cracks in my immersion. I even feel this on ps4 now with being able to just exit to a menu at any moment.
Let's have a tread about consoles emulating consoles! I enjoy playing GameBoy games on the MasterBoy emulator on the PSP. What about you, chums? http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/1372?PageSpeed=noscript
Nintendo NX to use cloud computing. The more you contribute to the botnet the more rewards you get. http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=8&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=Nintendo.AANM.&OS=AANM/Nintendo&RS=AANM/Nintendo
>Fallout 4 Thread An odd request but I recently got into the settlement mode aspect of Fallout4 more than really anything else. The game hasn't been that great to me but as with the previous DLCs I'm expecting those to be out of this world so waiting for those Anyway, do you guys have video or images of good looking settlements that you yourself have made or someone else that you like? Post link here Even if it isn't that good looking as long as it is interesting it is worth a view if they used resources in an odd way
Which console are you playing on? I've read/heard that both the PS4/XBONE has a lot of performance issues. Have you experienced these things yourself?
FAR CRY PRIMAL THREAD I've never been able to get into the previous Far Cry games but as this game is the first specifically on the new-gen systems I was intrigued. The combat looks pretty good and if the "protect the tribe" system works as good as they say it does it seems this game will be a real treat. >Your thoughts?
Looks pretty interesting and beatiful. I loved the open world of FC3, and the gameplay and theme of Blood Dragon. I'll give this one a chance.
Are console exclusives a scam? People should buy a console if they don't like to deal with PC's possible throubleshooting, and play the games of their choice in any platform of their choosing. The steam machine is a console but it's just a PC really at the same time. You can play a game on a steam machine or on a regular PC Why can't nintendo, sony and microsoft do the same? Books, anime, movies, tv series, you can watch them all on any TV or device of your choice. Why are games different?
>4chan mods banned me again for advertising /c/ on /v/ So much spam, to get the attention of so little people. Now I gotta reset my IP. Advertising is fucking hard.
>Getting users from /v/ of all places You know, I'd try /vg/'s emulation general and /vr/ first, even though they're as likely to be receptive to us as /v/.
>>39 I'll try /vg/ and /vr/ next
>>33 I would say more power to you, but most of the people on /v/ right now you would not want on this new board. Most people on /v/ would rather post inflammatory remarks instead of discussion about games. full /v/ can be decent>>33
>Twilight Princess HD is just the GC game up-rezed, not even a proper remake like Windwaker HD Why bother when you can play this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSDVY6Q9pfk
>>78 Played Twilight princess and thought it was just ok, I don't see why so many people like this game
>>79 Because it's Ocarina of Time 2.0. It's nothing amazing but it's a solid game with few flaws other than the tears of light collecting.
>>80 >Ocarina of Time 2.0. Isn't that Majora's Mask?
>>79 Funny, I feel the samd way about Wind Waker. Twilight Princess is by far the best designed Zelda game, even moreso than Skyward Sword.
>>78 Firstly the wii version was actually released slightly before the gc version, secondly twilight princess has a ton of items and secrets already, it doesn't need anymore.
Best Jrpg games for the console, preferably ps3? Ones that arent final fantasy.
>>93 not all jrpgs are turn based ever heard action rpgs and strategy rpgs?
>>94 Yeah, ARPGs and SRPGs aren't JRPGs. >Not all FPS are in first person. Haven't you heard of third person shooters?
Play any game from the atelier series, Some Tales of games are decent
Akiba's trip is Good although it's on PC
/v/irgin here, what the fuck is this
Stop shilling on /v/ faggots
