Who else grew up reading this?
Heres the link to all of the issues: http://www.readcomics.tv/johnny-the-homicidal-maniac/chapter-1 It starts on the first one. Have fun.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that this site has some pretty shitty viruses, so make sure whatever device you use has good protection.
>>1603 >>1603 Didn't grow up reading it, but I know I've read a bit of it a while ago. Was kind of disappointed, really.
>>1606 The last time I read all of them was 10 years ago. Now, I read them all again. I think it could have turned out a lot better to say the least.
So, what comics have you pursued and what comics have you finished? I have been reading webcomics, but I will allow any type of comic to be discussed here. I have been passively pursuing Cyanide and Happiness (the comics) because I saw the /co/ recommendations. Overall, it's not that funny and I think the videos that are made are better because they have a good twist at the end. I recommend the comics onlyi if you want to pursue a big comic site like Cyanide and Happiness that has a large following already. There must be over 3,000 individual comics though. The second (web) comic I have been reading is Whomp! The reason being was because it was also recommended and I find the main character to be identical to many people I find on wizardchan. He has no social skills and is has many regrets. He could be relate-able to a lot of people from other chans too because he has the cursed beta attitude and is obese. If you haven't seen the /co/ recommended list for webcomics, here it is. There are many recommended lists by the way.
Slow but the wait is totally worth it.
>>141 You know, I used to read a webcomic called Ozy and Millie back in the day, like when I was a teenager. It was kind of like Calvin and Hobbes in certain ways, like obviously in the title and they kind of had their own version of Calvinball and the characters are kind of similar -- honestly it was kind of a ripoff of Calvin and Hobbes in a lot of ways. Still though, because Calvin and Hobbes is so great, even a Calvin and Hobbes ripoff can still be a pretty good comic, and that was exactly my opinion of it. Reading some of the strips today, I still a lot of the strips hold up, though they don't all hold up. So I'd say that it has some good strips but it can also be inconsistent as well. The author's political cartoons are really good too. They're half the reason why I'm such a left wing person today probably, because I was reading this really unabashedly liberal comic when I was like younger, and of course, at the time, the alternative was pretty much Bush the tard, so you'd have to be an idiot, a complete moron not to be on the other side of that. In fact, it's one of the few political comics that I can actually stand, because it's not just a bunch of terrible visual metaphors like most political cartoons. Like there's actually different panels and recurring characters and dialogue and it's not lame as hell. Of course since it's a political comic a lot of it's kind of irrelevant now that time has passed. And then I dunno, the next comic she made was called Raine Dog and it was like this comic about this guy that like fucks a dog or something, I dunno, that one was kind of weird. And that was the last thing I read that she did. But check out Ozy and Millie, anyhow, or the political cartoon, which was called "I Drew This", or maybe Raine Dog if you're interested in like, sex with animals.
Damn, I could've sworn Gone with the Blastwave was in a never ending hiatus, but a new strip was there when this thread convinced me to at least check. Only web comic that I really like wholeheartedly, thanks /co/.
>>141 Thanks for the list!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV8bP1bLj_w this has GOT to stop
Those X-Men am I right?
>>1456 The guy was too cool to be a flamer. Suspiciously, in fact.
>>1457 >too cool
>>1454 DoFP was great tho :/
>>1419 The best part
>>1419 It would be nice if there was an Xman depicted as being into pubescent girls while still being a hero. Other than classic Professor X that is.
Just downloaded the entire Groo collection I loved these as a kid, but finding them was hard. Now I can finally fulfil my dream. Did you ever read Groo. Do you like it?
>>1586 I have a few comics still. What was the name of his dog?
anyone remember a series of a viking shota?
https://youtu.be/IwfUnkBfdZ4 Tell me something Off topic /co/ Judging by this trailer, is the plot of this movie respectful of source material? I'm not a huge /co/ guy, I've read some original x-men, some batmans like Hush, Arkham asylum and a little more, so tell me: does this movie have any bad premises that offend you as a /co/ fan so far?
Not for me. I've always treated movie adaptations as what-if or elseworld titles. They get rebooted every few years now too so who gives a shit, really? Any capefan old enough have had to deal with shit writers before too so I don't really get the hate when adaptations turn out to be vastly different from the source material. Also, source material tend to be utter shit often enough so good riddance. I also don't get all the whining when Supes killed Zod in MoS. Superman has been killing people off since the golden age.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3DWn2OPwvM I honestly feel like they edited the dialogue way too much to really qualify this as a proper adaptation of Alan Moore's fantastic story. What do you guys think?
it was okay. bat girl was a stupid bitch the whole time. couldn't stand it the only saving grace was the end the joke and them 2 laughing Kind of brought it together in an odd way. most of the time i was bored as hell they should have added a scene and shown the whole rape and really roughing her up, ya know? I wanted to see her bloody and crying and lose consciousness Overall it was just decent. not on i'd recommend. there were better ones
>>1598 Yeah, sure, let's put the shit Alan Moore said it never happened.
>>1599 it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what happened it is 2016 and the SJW/PC culture has taken over. of course he wouldn't admit to such things as a fucking male. don't want to ruin his job. he's not a fucking dumbass like you
Invader Zim comic from Oni Press? I've always wondered what the status of the IP since the show's cancellation. Does Nickolodeon own it or Vasquez? We'll see soon enough.
>>1450 Wow, there sure are a lot of covers.
>>1445 >creepy outccast child who wears a long black trench coat to school Amazing Nick allowed this design so shortly after Columbine shootings
>>1452 It's a noirish spy look and he pulls it off alright.
>>1227 I'm so happy that this is back! 😆
Looking forward to new waves of Gas 34
Frank Miller just announced a new Sin City http://comicbook.com/2015/10/09/frank-miller-announces-new-sin-city-series-at-new-york-comic-con/ >"Oh yeah," he said when asked if he had more work planned after his contributions to Dark Knight III. "My next book is set, I'm working on it now, in fact. It's a Sin City, a love story set against the backdrop of World War II."
I really love the recaps to this so I'm including them.
Gonna pause here for a bit. Be back later~
The title of the collected version is a bit misleading. There is no Vol 2. Hope you enjoyed this.
Hey /co/ I have a couple long boxes filled with comics, most with protective backs and sleeves How would I see these? Some are rare-ish, but most are something like $0.99-$2.99 Should I sell them over ebay or something? My local comic store?
I sell comics on ebay and it is a vast wasteland. The only comics that sell for any amount over .99 cents are key issues or CGC-graded books. Your local shop will likely give you a minimal offer as well. I have a set of Spawn 1-25 on ebay for 75% off retail price and so far I have had no takers... I'm not saying to not try to sell them but if you do go with extremely low expectations.
I have this feeling that I have posted this already... but I checked /pc/ and the EVE thread there is empty of this. Anyways, here's a "comic" version of that thing that happened on EVE years ago that made EVE turned it into one of the best MMOs to date.
>>1353 >that made EVE turned it into I really need to proof read my shit from time to time.
Bitcoin - The Hunt for Satoshi Nakamoto https://www.bitcoincomic.org/ https://www.comixology.com/Bitcoin-The-Hunt-for-Satoshi-Nakamoto/digital-comic/169959
Cool read. I actually didn't know his identity was secret.
I honestly thought the movie adaption was quite good and I rather enjoyed it.
Yeah, it was decent, the 4 hour ultimate cut was even better.
>>1349 me too, read the comic too. You can't compare how rich the graphic novel is compared to the movie of course, there's so much more, but it was a good movie and I even liked one adaptation that they made: [/s]in the movie, Ozy tricks the world to unite because Manhattan is allegedly attacking them, not some alien crazyness[/s]
HARD BOILED Time for some cool art with shit story. I seriously think that Frank Miller won an Eisner award for Best Writer with this purely because of the balloting mix up back in 1990. Or maybe it was a slow year for comic books back then. Or maybe they just give that shit to anyone. Still, it's an enjoyable read.
Congratulations on becoming featured, after all the content dumps you deserve it /co/min.
Been re-reading my stuff in attempt to filter out the meh from the yeh in my collection. More comics will come soon. I wish we get capechums in here to drum up activity but oh well.
If you keep your board and yourself active eventually this will get featured
>>134 If you have a 30 minute cool off for doing the dump thing then there wont be much spam.
>>133 Sounds like a Great feature, if you can think of a better way to prevent spammers from abusing said feature then contact Admin.
The next update will supposedly fix our spam problems so I'll wait before throwing some ideas at /gg/ but from just skimming the page, there's some good ideas in there already and gadmin is only one guy/girl coding so... yeah.
>>253 Just enjoy the ride and don't be afraid to ask questions or whatever /co/mics related shit you fancy.
